What can my babysitter do? 

A babysitter’s main priority is to keep the children safe and happy. In doing this, most babysitters will get busy with:

• Ensuring the children’s physical and emotional wellbeing
• Providing a range of entertainment (age-appropriate toys, colouring, crafts, games etc.)
• Planning activities and excursions (at the request and additional expense of parents)
• Feeding provided meals or basic meal preparation
• Putting children to bed or down for naps
• Following schedules
• Assistance with homework
• Basic child related housework
• Pet care

You will receive an update while you’re away and a detailed ‘Report Card’, so it will feel as though you never left.

Casual Babysitting rates

• A $30 booking fee is charged upon matching you with a childminder and is non-refundable. It is a separate charge to the hourly rate and covers insurance and administrative costs.
• Hourly rates are to be paid directly to the babysitter, either in cash or via bank transfer unless advised otherwise.
• A two hour minimum booking for casual babysitting applies.
• Enquire directly for overnight booking rates. The babysitter must be provided with suitable sleeping arrangements, including a bed of their own. If children wake overnight, the hourly rate will be applied on a pro-rata basis in 15 minute increments, for the time it takes to settle children back to sleep.
